Let us examine the video closely above. Starting at 00:01:22 , right arm of Nabong goes under the arm while pushing the opponent at with his left hand. Why not just strike him directly at the head. Probably his aiming for an uppercut. (See video clip below)
AT about 00:01:30, when pingris attack Nabong. When pingris was approching Nabong, look at his (Nabong) facial expression. It looks he is ready to strike back.
Looking at this video, Pingris does not seems to be in attacking position but Nabong seems to be very ready on Pingris hstrike.

Follow up looking into 00:02:10 , pingris strike is at a wrong angle. Also , look at Pingris "fist" position in his strikes. With his body type, I won't believe that he does know how to strike with his fist.
It's seems to be another popularity strategy. But popularity of who? We will find it out soon.
